Bryce's 1st wakeboard competition

Bryce & Kelton (Bryce's wake boarding hero)

Bryce with the other winners of his division!

On July 29th, we headed down to Eufaula lake, OK. (Last year we went for the weekend to watch the wake board competition...this year we went so Bryce could be in the competition.) We drove down that Thursday, in the rain. We got Bryce registered and then he was able to practice behind the actual boat that would pull him during the competition.
On Friday, the 30th, Bryce did his qualifying run. He rocked it. He didn't fall once and he pulled off every trick that he had practiced. He placed 2nd in the qualifier, so he rode 2nd to last in the finals.
On Saturday, we spent the day watching all the other riders...Women's, Wake Skate, Outlaw, Pro etc...Bryce's hero, Kelton, rode in Pro. He is from Tulsa and he is 19 years old. He is awesome to watch!
Sunday was the finals, for ALL divisions...it was a long day. Bryce's division, Grom, started out the day at 9:30am. Bryce had a good run, he crashed once on a wake to wake jump. We were sure that he would be so mad that he wouldn't be able to finish his run...but he made us proud by getting up and doing the smaller tricks...working himself back up to a wake to wake. The boy that placed 1st on Friday went out to do his run and crashed twice (which means your run is over) so we weren't sure how it would turn out for Bryce...this boys has more tricks than Bryce so he got different points. The boy that placed 2nd is only 7 years old...he is soooo cute! He went out there and tore it up...he did a hop 180, which Bryce can't do but Bryce did a wake to wake and the other kid didn't so...we had no idea how he would finish. The Pro division finished the day at 5:00pm. Then they had to tally up all the points and print out the standings etc...then it was time for the awards.
We were (and are) so proud of Bryce he placed 3rd out of 8 boys in his 1st wake board competition. He is ready to get out there and learn some new tricks..."so next year"(as he put it) he can do better then the other kids!!!

No such luck!!!

I tried to bleach my pants...most of the black came out. But not all of it... :-( There are a couple spots that have brownish streaks...I think I might try to re die them but not sure if that will work after bleaching them! :-(

Some good news from the laundry room...

If you look at the picture of my previously black pants you will see a grey spot...Andy had an idea to try to bleach them to that color...so I put them in bleach over night and guess what...they're pretty much all that color. There are a couple spots that are still brownish/purple but I think those are the spots that weren't in the bleach so I am going to try to put those spots down in the bleach and see what happens.

We were joking at work that I won't be able to bend over because I might split a seam...LOL

The helpfulness of a 6 year old...well kind of!!!!

Only after hours and hours and hours...and telling this story numerous times can I sit back and tell you all about it!

Tristan decided this morning that he was going to help with the laundry.

He came in my room this morning to talk to me. I asked him if he was going to take a shower (for reasons I will not discuss...wink, wink), he said yes and left my room. A few minutes later Bryce came in my room and asked if he could take a shower in my room...Sure I said. Bryce went and got his stuff (towel etc..). He came in and took a shower while I continued to get ready for work. After Bryce was done with his shower he went to his room to get dressed and, of course, they were fighting...so I came into the hallway and told them to stop fighting. At this time I hear the washing machine going. So I asked, "Why is the washing machine going?" Both boys said,...you guessed it..."I don't know". I go to the laundry room...as soon as I get to the door I can smell the BLEACH!!! I open the washer and all I see is dark things...I thought Tristan was washing his bedding. So my first thought was..."oh no his quilt will be ruined" (his Nana made his quilt) So I drain and spin the things in the washer then....I open it up and what do I see....MINE AND ANDY'S CLOTHES!!!!!!!! What in the world? I start taking things out and as I do I get madder and madder...What was he thinking? Oh that little...He is in SO much trouble!!!! I go to the bathroom, he is still in the bathtub complaining that he has NO hot water, and start yelling at him...He still sits there and tells me he didn't do it...Now remember Bryce has been in my room with me almost this whole time!!! So I get even madder!!!!!!!!!! Tristan won't tell me why he did it! I call Andy, who is in OKC, he talks to Tristan and all I hear is "I don't know"...As I start to calm down I realize that Tristan had put a pair of his pants and undies in the washer too! So he was just trying to be helpful! Oh man...what now?! I go to Tristan's room he is sitting behind his door wrapped in his towel (Boy did I feel bad). I called him over to me and we talked about it. I got him to agree that he was trying to wash that load so that we could do another load with his bedding. And I stressed that he had ruined some of my work clothes and that he was going to have to help pay for it. He said I know! And later when he was all dressed for school I showed him what bleach does to dark clothes...and told him that if he would have asked I would have shown him how to do a load!!

Anyways, that is how my day started! Thankfully no one was hurt although I can't replace my clothes right this minute it is something that I can look back on now and laugh at...thanks to the listening ears of ALL the women at work!!! Thanks Ladies!!!!

This is all of my clothes that got messed up!

Here are my black dress pants that I have had for about 6 years and LOVE(D)!!! You know the ones that I probably won't be able to replace because THEY DON'T MAKE THEM ANYMORE!!!! Patti and Renee I wore them to work alot!!! LOL

These are my brown cords that I wear to work almost every week!

First official trip to the lake

So yesterday we made our first official trip to the lake. Andy took the boat out on Friday afternoon to make sure that the repair we made wasn't leaking...it was good. So Friday night he spent the evening putting the seats (etc...) back in the boat!

We went out yesterday and had a good time driving around trying out the boat. Then Andy and Bryce put on their wetsuits and got in the water...they actually wakeboarded yesterday!! They didn't stay in long but it was enough to get in a couple good runs!

Oklahoma is CRAZY when it comes to weather...last Saturday it snowed 7", that Sunday it was 70 degrees. This weekend it was partly cloudy and 70 degrees on Saturday, and Andy and Bryce were in the lake with wetsuits...Then today it's 40 degrees and cloudy! We're supposed to freeze tonight!!! CRAZY!!!!

New snow record

This is Schatzi. She decided that she was going to go exploring in the snow yesterday. She was sniffing around for something because she got snow on her nose! She had to hop to make it through the snow because, as you can see, it's up to her belly! But that didn't stop her, she went exploring half way through the yard before she decided she was coming back in. Then she went over to the rug by the fireplace, rolled around to dry off and then took a nap by the warm fire!
The boys measured the snow yesterday and told us it was 7". They must have measured in a place where the snow drifted. So when I was reading the paper this morning...They were right. Tulsa reported 6" of snow. Since we're north of Tulsa, I'm sure their measurement was correct!
The last time it snowed over 3 1/2" after March 21st was in 1926. So we have a new record for the most snow after March 21st. Our snow will start melting quickly today, we're supposed to be in the high 40's to low 50's today. What doesn't melt today will melt tomorrow...it's supposed to be in the 70's! My kind of snow...here to make everything white and pretty and the kids have fun...and then it's gone!!!
